Literature Text

Name: If your character has any other alias, nickname, codename, etc that he/she uses, this goes here. If not, put the character's first and last name here.

Real Name: If you put any name other than your character's real name (i.e. any nickname, alias, etc.), then put his/her real name here.

Gender: Speaks for itself. Can be male or female. In rare situations, a character COULD be of neutral gender. Typically, though, most characters should be able to identify themselves as either male or female.

Age: Biological age. If this differs from your character's apparent, physical age, list that, too.

Height: How tall your character is. You can list this in the English (feet/inches) or the Metric (meters) system, preferably both.

Weight: How much your character weighs. Again, this can be listed in the English (pounds) or the Metric (kilograms) system, but preferably in both.

Appearance (Physical): What your character looks like, discounting outfit. If there are any specific features (scars, tattoos, etc), mention them. If your character's appearance differs greatly from any typical species (humans, dogs, etc) then use the following bullets to specify your character's appearance.
Head: Everything above the neck.
Chest and Torso: Everything between the neck and waist, not counting the arms. If the character has a tail, this goes in the description here, too.
Arms: The character's arms, from shoulder to fingertips.
Legs: Everything from the waist down.

Eye Color: Color of the character's eyes.

Outfit: What the character wears. Unless you can fit the entire description into about 4-5 sentences – or if you want a generic, nondescript outfit, you'll need to use the following bullets. Note that if you list the bullet points, you don't have to describe the bottom-most layer unless (a) that's all there is, or (b) if it is visible, or (c) if you think it might become exposed through removal, or damage to the upper layers; not likely, but possible.
Chest: This typically includes shirts, jackets, armor, or anything that covers the chest.
Torso: Pants, skirts, belts…anything worn around the waist.
Feet: Shoes, socks, etc.
Hands: Gloves or jewelry go here.
Head: This includes hats, glasses, any piercings, etc.

Weapons: Anything that your character can use to fight, from swords to knives to guns, etc. Not counting "natural weapons" (claws, teeth, etc), as that should be part of the physical description.

Powers: Any abnormal power or ability goes here, regardless if your character can use it in combat or not.

Psychology: Tell us how your character behaves. Is he/she confident? Arrogant? Timid? Shy? Optimistic? Pessimistic? Trusting? Loyal? Impish? Things like that. Be sure to include any personality or psychological disorders, though your character does not need to have one.

Likes: List three things that your character likes. Have fun with this one.

Hates: List three things that your character does not like.

Best Feeling: It's in the title: What's the one thing that makes your character happy/excited/at peace above anything else?

Worst Fear: What is your character the most afraid of? It can be a specific situation or of a specific object. It might be a phobia.

Occupation: What does your character do for a living? How does he/she occupy himself/herself in daily life?

Background: Put history here. It can be as short or as long as you want it to be. I recommend about 2-4 paragraphs; long enough to explain your character's origins, but not too long to become boring. Be creative. And don't kid yourself; done correctly, the background can be the most entertaining part of the profile.

Overall Strengths: Remember, this is a tournament. This is where you lay down the chips: this is how your character will win. It can be one point, or several. You're summing up points you've already made, however this is to clarify to your opponent each specific strength that your character has.

Overall Weaknesses: Remember, this is a tournament. Nobody's perfect; as strong or as weak as your character is, he/she is bound to have one or more Achilles heels. How can your character be beaten? This is important to being accepted as a fair, logical contender. Be honest.
I've been making a few OCT profiles lately. They've been fun so far, and I found them to be a good way to hone my writing style. I suspect it might do you drawers/animators/etc some good, too. Anyway, this is the format I've been using for the profiles. Here's an example of a character I've made a profile on in this style: [link]

If you decide to use this template, you don't have to ask. I'd like it if you included a link of where you got this template (that place being here) in your description, though. That way others can see and use it. And that might just help everybody.

By the way, that particular profile I mentioned got a lot of compliments. A lot of them found it to be highly detailed and thought-out. Just to let you know. :)

Enjoy!
